A SCENIC GUIDED WILDERNESS HIKE JUST FOR YOU TOO
Have you ever wondered what is out there beyond the Ranger Station? Here is an opportunity to go where you may have never ventured before. Mt. San Jacinto Hidden Divide Natural Preserve is our very special destination.This is the home of the rare and protected San Jacinto Blue Curl, found nowhere else on the planet. We will talk about the conditions which are necessary for a new species like this to evolve. This will be a gentle hike with time to experience the joy of being a part of nature. The views are stunning!

Time: 8:30 AM to about noon
We suggest arriving at the valley tram station no later than 7:30 a.m. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to buy a tram ticket in advance, online or at the ticket counter, for the 8 a.m. departure. Buying your ticket in advance and being at the gate early can assure arriving on time for the class. Online tickets are limited in number. Order early! Go to pstramway.com/tickets If online tickets are not available be sure to arrive early as most tickets for each departure are available for walk-ins. Note, if for any reason you are unable to use the ticket on the day reserved, tickets purchased in advance at the tram website, or on-site, are good anytime for 1 year from the date of purchase.
Meet At: The Long Valley Ranger Station. Turn right at the bottom of the ramp and proceed to the ranger station. See map: LVRS
Hike Fitness Level: Rated moderate, While this hike is designed to accommodate your personal ability, it is essential that participants be in good physical condition, taking into account the elevation and rugged trails. However, the pace will be adjusted to accommodate all participants.
Distance: Approximately 3 miles round trip with a maximum of about 500 feet elevation gain.
Destination: Hidden Divide Natural Preserve.
Group Size: Up to 10
Preparation And Gear: Hiking boots or other durable footwear that you have broken in. Do not wear new unproven footwear. Bring backup warm layers and consider rain jacket and gloves. Water (at least 2 quarts) energy snacks, lunch. Optional: Trekking poles (recommended), camera, sunscreen, hat, binoculars, sunglasses.

Booking: A reservation is required. Only one booking is permitted at a time. For more than one, simply fill out the form again with the information for each additional enrollee and submit. Overbookings will be waitlisted and if space becomes available enrollee will be notified in order of priority.
