Junior Ranger Program
Kids, are you ready to learn more about some great ways to have fun in your California State Parks? Are you between 7 and 12 years old? Then the Junior Rangers is perfect for you.
Junior Ranger programs are offered at more than 70 state parks, from the redwood region, to the high Sierra, to the sunny Southern California beaches.
Our program is designed to teach young children about the natural history of Mount San Jacinto State Park. You will be given a self-guided activity to be completed on the Long Valley Discovery Trail. Completed forms are returned to the State Park Visitor Center in the Mountain Station or Long Valley Ranger Station. Upon returning from the activity, you will be sworn in as a Junior Ranger and given a badge.
The Junior Ranger Program is offered free of charge. We also offer the Junior Ranger Adventure Guide in English and the Junior Ranger Adventure Guide in Spanish. You can print it out before you come to the park and then have fun doing these activities with your whole family!
