Chrysothamnus nauseosus var. bernardina
Family: Sunflower (Asteraceae; old, Compositae)
Habitat: dry, sunny areas; often in alkaline soil
Characteristics: This plant has brittle woody stems. The flowers are bright yellow, rounded clusters at the ends of branches.
Blooms: August; along concrete ramp, LV, RV, TV in southern exposure
Comments: Looks more like a small shrub than wildflower.
